This Thanksgiving poem was written by our friend Frank Neeley of Anchorage,
AK. Frank and his wife Bev are parents to Mark's high school friend,
Jim. Knowing them has been a blessing to us. Frank writes beautiful
poetry for special occasions. I wanted to share this one with you.
He wrote: Hi folks, just wanted to share these words with you, hope they bring a smile. With much love to you and yours, Us Thanksgiving....2004
Today is a special day in our lives, when we give thanks to God above. Americans have always held this day, to share our thoughts and love. The first Americans in this land, many years back, in the long ago. Gave thanks to Him on this day, their love would forever show. They taught their families to give thanks, each generation too. Jesus saw their sincerity in this, He was proud of them, it's true. Times have not always been great, for most of us today. That's when we ask Him for those things, He always hears us pray. Someday our lives are better for us, we give thanks to Jesus dear. It is also a time we should help others, every day of the year. Sometimes it only takes a smile, to show folks that we care. A word, a hug, will brighten a life, let each one do their share. Who knows when we will be, the one who needs to know folks care. One day we are up. the next day down, Jesus watches how we fare. Sharing blessings in this life, is what He would have us do. Make a new friend with kindness, let your love shine through. Frank Neeley |
