Sputnik This is a unique painting by Virginia. In the year 1990 or so, there was a big 50s party we were scheduled to attend. It had an associated Art Contest. Virginia painted this as a 50's theme design, commemorating the start of the space race, which culminated in 1969 with the USA landing men on the moon. This painting won first prize
