No Fiberglass RV's built today are built like these Rock Solid buses!
They were designed to carry 53 passengers over the toughest city streets, up the highest mountains, or across the vast country of ours, in all kinds of weather. Do you think there is a new fiberglass RV certified by the D.O.T. to do that? Hundreds of thousands of miles are easy for these buses. Bussie will outlive you and you can pass her down to future generations for them to enjoy!.
Have you seen the movie “Speed” with Sandra Bullock? If not, go get a copy and see it. You'll see this same make and model bus before it was converted. They chose this bus cause they needed something really tough to smash through those cars like they were toys.
Now ask yourself what would you trust your loved ones to go cross country in ?
This bus is a 1969 model in registration, but
EVERYTHING has been refurbished starting in 1989/90 and various parts
even more recently.
You save on insurance,
registration, and taxes because of the year on the title, yet you still
have a fairly new RV!.... This is a Professionally
Done, Best of everything Conversion..
This RV CAN TAKE YOU ANYWHERE RIGHT NOW!........ fuel
mileage in our experience has ranged from 12mpg down to 5mpg depending
on how fast we were driving, climbing, how much we were towing and
other factors. I recently moved Bussie from Bend to Salem Oregon towing
my Tracker, and got
11 mpg while doing so. Even at today's diesel prices typical RV use of
parking for a month or so at each place you want to explore, or
snowbird north/south travel once a year doesn't add up to all that much
for fuel. Definately less than a mortgage, even with space rental over
a year.
Bussie is loaded. These buses were
designed to
go a million miles. Unlike most bus conversions Bussie has enough
headroom for even a tall person. The body is constructed of
Aircraft Grade
(like they use on fighter planes, and commercial airliners) Aluminum
which doesn't rust and is Tougher, Stronger
and SAFER than the flimsy
fiberglass imitations made today and it requires less
maintenance. She has complete air ride smooth as silk
suspension, leveling,
power steering, automatic Allison transmission with a
direct Overdrive, mated to a 567 cubic inch Detroit Diesel
8v71 motor that can take her up to 80+ mph if you desire.
When you step inside you can't believe it was ever a bus, it is just
like the luxury RV you see in the mags and dream about, but
figure you could never afford. Well now you can. This RV is easily worth
$100,000 or more, but I am forced to sell by the death of my wife,
so you
can get it for much less. She and I had planned to live in it for the
rest of our lives, and she did, except for the last two months.
This RV really has way too much to list on one page, so in addition to reading here, I encourage you to check out the pictures and descriptions as linked from the prior page. Feel free to email with questions using the link on the prior page, all questions will be answered. This RV is really a great deal and will give you many years and miles of luxurious RV living. If you are really looking for that Dream RV, don't pass up this one! It only has about 30,000 miles on the conversion, and less on the motor, transmission and rear end rebuilds.
Note: This Bus Conversion is Titled and Registered as a Motorhome therefore you do not need commercial plates or a CDL to drive it in most states. It was originally titled and registered in California as a motorhome; currently it is titled and registered as an RV in Texas.

****VALUATION****
To
Help You Determine the Value of this RV: DO
THE MATH
I have Scanned and Posted about
$70,000 Worth of Receipts below. And I have plenty more. This doesn’t
count the cost of the bus shell, paint/body work or
all the Goodies it has.
The following are excerpts from a guy who professionally tests and reviews automobiles for feature magazines.
Pros of the GMC BUSES VS Others like MCI:
They are made of aluminum so they resist rust MUCH better than MCIs.
Also, the stressed skin construction means they are lighter than most buses of the same size, and just as strong. With the 8v71 engine (used by GM and MCI in 40'ers too) they are pretty powerful (for buses, that is).
Because they are lighter, GMC’s have six tires, not
eight like a 40'
MCI, which will save you $400-$800 or more when it comes time to buy
tires, plus it has better traction in slippery conditions.
These GMCs are an engineering marvel, built for light
weight and easy powertrain accessibility. Note how many GMC owners
are retired engineers or people who worked in the aircraft industry.
The GM is the "thinking man's bus". The
ingenious transverse engine
mounting means that just about every
part, everything but the rear exhaust manifold and the starter) is
accessible from outside of the bus, which will save you labor costs
and/or bloody knuckles. The Starter is accesible through a hatch under
the bed in the bedroom.
All engine accessories are driven by gears or oil; there are no belts. In my opinion, they are beautiful buses, and have a lot more personality than the MCIs.
