As you can see, we've revamped our
newsletter format yet again. Some people
said the print was too small; others said there was too much to read.
We wanted to address these issues and make it
easier for anyone to read in a short time. For
those of you who would like to read more, there is plenty on our BBtJ.Org website. We have changed our
mailing
policy. Please look for the
explanation on page two. We don't want you to miss a single issue. It’s
free!
As the school year draws to a
close, we think of all the things that happened during the past nine
months. Last August we had finished the first year by correspondence
and looked forward to everything we could learn in our second year. We
never thought that we would have facilitated a Bible Study in our RV
park. Certainly we never entertained the
thought of performing a baptism (see page two) so soon. As you know, we
participated in two Walkathons. We again
thank those of you who were able to send in donations or prayer
requests. We prayed for everyone who
responded, and many who didn’t.
We've been stretched in everything
we do. We both took Children's Ministry
this last term. When we made our 20 minute presentation (puppet show
and song) of a class designed for 3rd and 4th graders, the teacher said
that we did as good or better than people who have had children. The
second year class also divided up into teams to work on various
projects. Mark's group planned a
parachurch ministry to support CBC and AWMI while Virginia's Women's
Ministry group organized a one day conference for women. The latest
stretch is that we've volunteered to provide a segment of entertainment
for the end of school party. Our plan is
to do the skit we did during our Mission Trip experience in Mexico.
A few weeks ago Mark helped “Liza's
Place, A Gospel Home for Women”, set up a website, http://www.Gospel-Home.org.
Their volunteer staff will be able to continue
maintaining the site.
We will be graduating on May 15th. We in the process of making
summer plans. The RV park asked us to work part time, which
will provide us with rent and utilities. We have a long list of
projects that need doing, places that need visiting and people who want
ministry. We definitely plan to travel to Livingston to finalize our
residency status, and Virginia hopes to visit various family and
friends while in Texas. Several ministries across the nation have
extended casual invitations for us to visit. So
travel to several states is on our wish list.
Lest you think we are all work and
no play, we did get to an ice skating activity with other CBC students.
We were also able to attend the dress rehearsal of “The Thorn”.

Women's Weekend Fellowship
The women of CBC
and guests from among the Gospel Truth listening audience enjoyed three
funfilled days at Snow Mountain Ranch. The
teachings by Kay LeFever and Karen Duncan were life changing. Each
woman was touched by their unique messages regarding God's love for
women and finding His purpose for our lives. Virginia, along with first
year students Jerri Betts and Jo
Reynolds, performed a baptism for one of the attendees in the Snow
Mountain Ranch children's pool. "It was as much an awesome experience
for the baptizers as for the baptizee. We
really felt the Holy Spirit's presence." Session notes from the weekend
can be read online at: http://www.BBtJ.org/reviews/mtg04003.html
DE Report
Our Discipleship
Evangelism studies have been winding up as we reach the end of the
school year. The study in the RV Park had a fluid audience because of
travel and other activities. We give our thanks to Bill Girnius for
attending all eleven of the Level One lessons we covered. Additionally
Colleen Brixius is the first of our students
to complete all three levels of the DE
program. In a study over the telephone, Colleen and Virginia covered
all 48 lessons within five months. Colleen said "The study gave
clarity, plus confirming what we have learned from other sources. Since
I moved away, God has been teaching both of us the same thing; we've
had separate walks but have been going the same direction. We've gotten
a fuller picture of God's word by
sharing with each other."
Feedback from our Readers
Mary S: I read your
newsy newsletter and your online journal. WOW! What an interesting life
you currently have! Thank you for taking the time to keep us all
informed to what we are missing at Charis Bible College. Would you let
me know if you think I should come down for something special at the
school?
Ed W:That's a good
idea to email your newsletter. Jalen and I check this address daily, so
if you want to save on ink, paper, and time we can receive your news
letters this way. You guys are a blessing and encouragement to me. I
was glad to hear about work you two are doing in the RV park, PRAISE
GOD!
Tim M: Virginia, you
are an awesome communicator. I save your emails just to see how you are
presenting your ministry. I do read the ministry info too, but
communication is what flips my switch. You and Mark are a blessing.
Kara S: I read your
newsletter on line and was really blessed and encouraged to hear how
God is using you to further the gospel. You are an encouragement to me
and just thought I’d take the time to let you know.
New mailing Policy
Beginning with
our next issue, we are changing our mailing policy. Unless you have
specifically requested a printed

1. We
will email our newsletter to those for whom we have email addresses. If
you did not receive the email linking to
our online version of this April/May newsletter and wish to receive
future installments, please send your email address to:

to Email Virginia
. If you
did receive the email notification, you
will remain on the email list until removal is requested.
2. If you do not have email or for other reasons wish
to receive the paper newsletter via Postal,
please notify us (if you have
not already). We are happy to send it to you if you have even the
slightest interest. However, we prefer to
save the time, effort and money if it is going straight to the trash
when it arrives. Therefore your automatic hardcopy subscription for all
issues ends with this issue unless you respond (no money
required, it’s free!).
3. We
may still periodically send mail to everyone on our entire mailing list
unless removal has been requested.
