It has been a most
exciting month-plus since we pulled out of Colorado Springs on
September 16th. Our first destination was Grace Coach in
Denver where we had some maintenance done on the RV. Our real travels
began on Sunday the 19th. The radiator started blowing fluid south of
Pueblo. We did some McGyver-type repairs which got us to Amarillo.
Mark failed the drivers test in Bussie the first time; he scrubbed a
tire on the curb which is an automatic failure. However, the delay
caused us to realize that we had to find a radiator shop before going
further. Thank God because we could have blown the motor. Our more
complete adventures can be read in Virginia's “Departure for
Hominy Trip Diary”, at:
http://www.BBtJ.org/journals/td4002.html
There's never a dull
moment around here in Hominy; we hit the ground running and haven't
slowed up since. The local people of Outreach for America were
gearing up for a conference which was just held October 27-30. In a
few short weeks, volunteers turned a dilapidated auction barn into a
beautiful place of worship. Mark and I primarily worked with
registration and office duty. Eighty one people plus children
worshipped God and listened to speakers Dave Duell and Dave Hinton.
Our report on the conference can be found at:
http://www.BBtJ.Org/reviews/mtg04004.html
We are excited about
the future and hope you will share by praying for and partnering with
us if led by the Holy Spirit to do so. Several have asked what we are
"doing" now. Our plans are to continue growing in Grace and
spreading the Joy of the Gospel by letting our light shine. We've
been learning to be led by the Holy Spirit and go where God calls.
Each day is an adventure. We never know where God leads; the results
are amazing, certainly more than we anticipate when initially doing
what we are told. We are continuing to update our web site and have
begun a web site for Outreach for America. We look forward to
spending more time with David and Cindy Hinton to learn how our
visions complement each other and how we can support them while
establishing our own ministry. We have printed a prototype of a
brochure for our BBtJ.Org ministry. One is enclosed for our postal
readers; online readers can access it at
http://BBtJ.Org/about/BBtJbrochure01.pdf
. If you have any comments, please send them to us. We are continuing
to make changes as we feel led.
Mark is offering a computer class to Outreach for America friends and
family He has put together a computer lab with 9 computers. Six
people attended the first classes. Several more promised to join
after the conference. In conjunction with teaching basic computer
skills, he has also made available a typing tutor and typing games
for anyone who wishes to gain typing proficiency.
As the year draws to
a close, we speak blessings and happiness for you and yours!

Vanna moves on (picture at right)
Why Vanna again? Well, no one made a decent offer on Mark's van, but
Outreach For America needed a newer vehicle. In faith the van was given
(after cleaning!) to the Hintons for ministry use. Maybe they'll even
let us borrow it sometimes. We believe that planting good seed in good
ground is not only the right thing to do, but will garner us a many
fold return after many days. While not yet debt free, God has seen to
it that we have been able to stay current with our obligations. Our
expenses are way down, and your faithful contributions have helped
tremendously. Currently our biggest expenses are ministry / serving
related incidental expenses, and doing this newsletter! Please see

Comment from Virginia
We don't often get feedback on how our actions affect someone. Mark and
I had helped put together the mailing list to send out the flyer
advertising the OFA Conference. We received an email from someone
asking for more information. I responded to the questions and said I
hoped they would come. On Wednesday night I realized some people by
that name had registered; I asked them if they were the people with
whom I had exchanged emails. The “yes” answer was quite a story. They
had prayed for something that could help their family. Out of the blue,
they received the conference brochure in the mail “from someone they
didn't know.” (Their names are in the OFA files). My response to their
letter had encouraged the entire family to come to Hominy and they were
encouraged by the ministry received that evening. They also came the
next evening. BTW: I also had the priviledge of seeing the local
newspaper publish an article I wrote about OFA's upcoming conference.
