Summer
is fast approaching. Hard to believe time is passing so quickly. We
like to think that is contentment in serving the Lord.
We
are in sunny and rainy Central Oregon. Intense prayer after a phone
call from Mark's brother Chris led us to leave Tulsa to see what the
North Pacific Coast is like. We still don't know since we are having
a good time in the Bend, OR
area and haven't yet made it to the coast. We left Oklahoma for
Denver on March 10th. We left there in a snowstorm and had
a difficult time crossing Wyoming in 13-25 degree weather. Several
times we lost air pressure only to have the parking brakes come on
while moving on ice. Once in Salt Lake City we got the satellite dish
checked and software upgraded at MotoSat.
Then we did lots of praying about engine and transmission
temperatures as we went over the Rocky Mountains to Oregon. Although
Mark had to “play MacGyver”
more than once during our travels, we made it in one piece. To read
about our adventures, see Virginia's Oregon
Trip Diary.
After
several days in Bend (see Virginia's Journal
March 15-26),
we settled at the Cascade
Meadows RV Resort
just north of La
Pine, OR.
The owners gave us six weeks of free rent to ensure our services for
the summer. What a blessing from God! Virginia will be teaching water
aerobics to the summer guests with additional hours in the
registration/security booth. Mark is pursuing some job opportunities.
We anticipate plenty of time in our schedules to continue our BBtJ
ministry.
We have just completed a trip to tie up
loose ends in Oklahoma and Missouri and also visited faithful friends
in Texas, Colorado (see picture below) and Nebraska. We left Bussie
in Oregon and took off in little Tracker, returning with Truckster
which we had left in Oklahoma. As BBtJ.Org is a
web-based encouragment ministry, we meet many people
electronically. When God leads, we travel to have physical contact.
We had many opportunities to both share aspects of the Gospel and
learn more about our Savior and his call upon our lives. Read about
our latest Mission Trip in Oklahoma/Texas
Trip Diary.
It's good to be back home again with
Bussie, family and new friends. We made a number of positive contacts
during the short time we were here before our trip. We are excited
about future opportunities in the Bend / LaPine area and look forward
to letting you know about these in future newsletters. Read about our
daily activities in Virginia's Journal at

you'd like to partner with us on our journey for the Lord, please use

appreciate all our friends and family and look forward to hearing
from you. Keep us in your prayers and let us know your prayer needs.
We wish the best for you this summer. Don't get sunburned!

Book
Review from Virginia
In times of trauma one sometimes sees their lives
flash before their eyes. Having grown up in a fundamentalist and
legalist church, I related to the many scenarios outlined in The
Royal Law of Liberty: Living in Freedom under Christ's Law of Love.
It was the story of my life in 488 pages of riveting information on
the difference between the Law of Legalism and the Royal Law as
outlined in Deut
6:5 and Lev
19:18, confirmed by Christ in Matt
22:37-41 and so-named in James
2:8. Author Darwin Chandler shows us the true meaning of
Salvation as given to mankind by Christ our Savior. He explains how
the authorities of organized religion have taken the Bible and added
a bunch of "dos and don'ts." Just as the Jews of old chafed
under the burden of Jewish law, we also are burdened with traditions
in the name of Jesus. How can we please God if we are not strict
lawkeepers? According to the Apostle Paul, if that question is not
asked, then Grace is not being taught. Chandler shows us that it is a
heart matter. He answers all the how and why of real freedom in
Christ without running amuck in "sin." I highly recommend The Royal
Law of Liberty to anyone who has questioned the
rules of "the church." I now feel better prepared (as I go
through this Journey of Life), being assured of Salvation, God's
purpose for my Life and accepting Grace and Mercy. My review of this
book can be found at: /reviews/RoyalLawofLiberty.html.
Feedback
from our Readers
Marilyn
G: You are two busy Christians
doing an impressive job of spreading the Gospel.
I think that's wonderful. It is a never-ending process of learning
something new every day.
Jill R: Just finished reading the
Bible using the Read the Bible in 90
Days program you mentioned in your January
newsletter. It was awesome, giving a clear overview, so I could
see how specifics applied to the bigger picture. It really helped me
see aspects of the books in a way I haven't seen before. We know the
Word is alive but I just think it gets more and more exciting. With
every way we approach it, I continue to be amazed!
Bud C: Mark, It's not coincident
that yesterday morning I was thinking about you and wondering if I
somehow missed the newsletter. So today it was on my list of things
to do to go to your site and check up on both of you. Oh what joy to
just see your email in my inbox. Thanks and thank God.
Kevin B: God Speed in your endeavors,
wherever they take you. I'm sure He will to you. For myself, I have
found a renewed desire to serve the Lord
more fully, more effectually, and have had some very powerful
opportunities to bear testimony of the
Saviors mission and truthfulness of His gospel over
the past few weeks. I count you among those who have inspired
this desire to feel more of His Spirit, and do His will.
As
part of the studio audience of The
New Jim Bakker Show
One
of the educational opportunities we had while in Branson, MO was to
attend three classes on Temperament Counseling using the Arno Profile
System. Certified NCCAandSACC
counselor, Jim
Bakker,
taught the audience the need for ministers to use this method during counseling. Especially helpful to
marriages, learning the God-given temperaments can help all people
learn about their responses to God and others, whereby building
relationships and tapping our potential.
Web
Response As reported in our March
newsletter,
December
was our first month of having over 4500 visitors a month to the
BBtJ.Org website. This level was maintained through March. April was
a little lower, just over 3200, probably because we were traveling
instead of posting regularly.
