BBtJ.Org April / May 2006 News Letter

Dear Friends of BBtJ,Mark Coil Wire

Greetings from Bend, OR. Spring has come to Central Oregon practically overnight. Flowers are blossoming and trees are budding. It has thawed and people are already complaining about the heat. We say “enjoy life, no matter the weather.”

We just returned from a small Oregon resort where we have been forming relationships. We are able to work in fill-in positions from time to time. Mark's mechanical experience and interest in their “off the grid” GeoThermal and HydroElectric systems makes this attractive. As you can see from the pictures, some jobs are more dangerous than others; Mark is perched 20 feet up in the air in the picture below. Virginia's background enables her to work in several departments if needed. At the present time, we are staying in Bend and continue to reach outward as much as possible. The mission field is all around us.

Mark on HydroOur last newsletter mentioned that we've been seeing God place people in our paths. We've been abundantly blessed in being able to spend time with fellow believers in both social and Bible Study settings. Just yesterday we enjoyed an impromptu hymn sing and prayer at the end of a wedding reception. One small group which we enjoy meets weekly at a tattoo parlor for an interactive Bible study. We've also found our RV/trailer park to be a mission field. As we've continued to make friends (warmer weather helps as people tend to spend more time outside), we keep finding hurting people who believe in Jesus but need encouragement. A friend in the trailer park told us recently that our presence has been a blessing to her both physically and spiritually.

Last time we wrote, Virginia had just received final approval as a speaker for Stonecroft Ministries. Another speaker just canceled for June; Virginia is the replacement who will speak to four groups in this Central Oregon area. In addition, a LaPine women's group (not connected with Stonecroft) has asked her to speak at the end of this month. In the meantime she's been having fun doing skits for the organization's meetings (see Hillbilly Virginia at bottom right).

Hillbilly VirginiaAs always, you can read more about our daily activities by going to Virginia's Journal at http://www.bbtj.org/journals/vj2006Q2.html. New articles, reviews, etc continue to be posted as well.

Stay cool!! Love to all our Brothers and Sisters,

Mark & Virginia Lane Bolzern

Website Reviews from Virginia

Most of us surf the web, or at least search for websites containing information on a specific topic. I wanted to share with you two websites that have been helpful to me in the area of seeking healing, both physically and emotionally.

Several years ago I stumbled upon the Tim Greenwood Ministries site. I did a double-take at the name and saw this was indeed the man I knew in the early 70s. We've both come a long way since then. I was fascinated to read of his healing from major heart disease. In addition to his testimony, the TBM site contains articles on many topics and testimonies of others who have seen divine healing. I find the information factual and encouraging, designed both to give people information but also to make them question what they've always taken for granted—or maybe just ignored. Greenwood's book Walking in Faith can be downloaded or ordered in hard copy. The website is http://www.tgm.org

Paula Moldenhauer of Soul Scents offers uplifting devotionals. Using examples from her own life, Paula introduces topics make one think. I've found that her experiences and insights help me along on my journey with God. Paula writes in a way that makes one feel that she is a friend. Devotionals are sent each Monday via email or can be viewed on the Soul Scents website at http://www.soulscents.us/archives.htm.

Feedback from our Readers

Sharon P: It was good to get your news letter. Congratulations on the speaking engagements. What an opportunity. You have been looking forward to times where you were able to share God's love and His word with others more.

Patty L: it was nice to meet you in Bend. I just read a bit of the info on your site. it's wonderful! thanks for the encouragement. God bless you and Mark!

Don R: I just looked up your latest newsletter on line; quite a leap from the van to Bussie, isn't it? It's odd to think of those days motoring across the country with the van filled with Linux goodies as a rehearsal and training ground for nowadays. Your newsletters let me know you are well and happy, and pleases very much! From your old friend.

Shirley W: Congratulations on being a speaker rep for Stonecroft Ministries. About your statement of not having to have mandatory church attendance. My observation is that many people have a relationship with their church or organization rather than with Christ.

Susan L: It's good to receive your newsletter regularly. At least I get to keep up on parts of your life. Ha! Your comments on "church" were very interesting. I believe that God's meaning of the word is so very much different from the "box" we used to believe it "had" to be. Maybe the "body of Christ" is more like a tree...than any building or group of people we can picture.
